IWCP - 12 March 1938 - NEWPORT - Death of Mr. E. M. Burgess. - The death occurred at 15 Elm-grove, on Tuesday, after a short illness, of Mr. Edwin Marshall Burgess, for 35 years a cab driver employed by Messrs. Reads, and for the last three years a porter at the Vine Hotel. He was a member of the well known Newport family of horsemen and sportsmen who processed a very cheerful personality, and was held in much esteem, and sympathy is felt with his wife, an invalid, and a daughter in their sad loss. The funeral will be at St. John's Church to-day (Saturday) at 2.15.
