Isle of Wight County Press - 14 September 1940 - NEWPORT - A Nonagenarian's Death. - The funeral took place at Newport Cemetery on Tuesday of Mrs. Martha Spragg, who had reached the grand old age of 94. The greater part of her life was spent in the borough. She had always enjoyed good health and took a daily walk until eight months ago, when she had the misfortune to fall downstairs. Since then she had been confined to her bed under the care of Dr. Foster and Nurse Cooper. She passed away at he daughter's residence at 60 Crocker-street on Friday week. Her sons and grandsons attended the funeral and there were many floral tributes.
