The Round House, Fairlee Road, Newport
Listed grade: Grade 2
Year listed: 1972
Description: Small octagonal 2 storey [toll house]. Red brick with tiled roof. Casement windows. Modern addition to the west.
Comments: Although listed as a 'toll house', 1863/66, 6 inch OS maps show it NOT to be the Fairlee Turn Pike toll house at that time), both are shown, the toll house between Fairlee House and today's Halberry Lane. Possibly it's a miss-attribution which has 'taken root' in local 'folk lore.'
