Isle of Wight Observer - 18 July 1874 - NEWPORT - DEATH OF MR. SAMUEL DYER. - We sincerely regret to have to record the death of the above gentleman, who expired on Monday morning, at the age of 55 years. Mr. Dyer was well known as one of the leading commercial men in the Island. He was formerly a member of the Corporation of Newport, and he was also for some years one of the Guardians of the Poor for this parish. The funeral took place on Wednesday.
